A Bit About The Club
There has been a cricket club in Gresford for at least 125 years. During that time the Club has played at various locations in the village, including grounds at Vicarage Lane and on what is now Gresford Park.
For about 100 years the Club’s home was the High Street ground, until it moved to the Memorial Hall in May 1997. The cricket club is affiliated to Gresford Trust who manage the recreational facilities on this area of the village..see website for more details
The Club runs two senior teams playing in the North Wales Cricket League with the 1st XI winning the League Championship in 1985 and 1989, as well as a Sunday `friendly` team. A team is also entered in the Chester Midweek League
In addition the Club has for many years recognised the importance of giving youngsters..both boys and girls.... the opportunity to play cricket, and currently has five junior teams playing in the North East Wales Leagues at ages from under 9 to under 15
A number of our juniors are now representing North East Wales.
We welcome new players – just come along to one of our training sessions or contact a club representative. Otherwise – just come along and watch!
