Following a mid morning hail storm B`sda 1st did`nt hesitate to ask G`ford to bat. After a steady start wks fell quickly (batsmen 4,5 & 6 all for a duck) to the homeside at 54 for 5. Skipper Ellwood then took over with an excellent 78 well supported by the latter batsmen in particular D. Baker (38). A last wk partnership between the old and young Richards` (22) took the score to a respectable 190 for 9 dec off 44 overs. In reply B`sda wks fell regularly with Paddy richards the star performer with 4 wk for 30 runs. A good catch was apparantly taken at short leg! |
