Captain Williams won the toss and decided to do…..errm….nothing. “We’ll let you know in a minute” he said to the Conwy skipper. The delay—two Griffin brothers lost deep in the Gwynedd countryside! Williams gambled on the pair arriving by half 1 and elected to field. A short boundary and a sunny day meant that runs came quickly. However, Simon Perry came on and strung 29 dot balls together to halt the hosts. At the other end the captain continued his knack of picking up wickets by the shedload, 6-45 off ten, whilst being sledged by most of his own team! Nicky Clare also bowled tightly 1-35 off 12. Gresford showed how easy batting was as they knocked off the 194 runs needed for victory in just 31 overs. Fraser Murdoch in the runs once again with a flawless 69 not out. |
