Match Report | NORTH WALES REGIONAL FINAL OF THE WELSH CUP GCC Vs NORTHOP U13’s – 20th JUNE 2014 Headline is Northop 88-4 off 20 overs and in rely GCC 90-5 off 19.1 overs. But that was not the whole story as this was a festival of cricket, a Glastonbury of matches…… so let me introduce you to the GCC band: Lead singers, Jack Cooper with 30* batting, 2-23 with the ball and tactically learning all the time, also Dan Parry, a quick fire 9 with the bat and bowled well at the death for 23 runs. On drums, Henry Soper 14-1, Jack Billington 13-0 and Toby Bellis 11-1, the bowlers who set the rythym and thundered in for the first twelve overs. On symbols we had Tom Barlow and Ethan Mcarthy the two batsmen in at the end who struck two fours in the last two overs to seal victory with a big crashhhhhh. Lead guitar, Rufus Bland, Ryan McCarthy and Dan Jones never letting the opposition settle and making sure everyone in the field were on their toes from point, square leg and mid off…great teckers! And last but not least on base guitar, Ewan Hoskins, our wicket keeper and opening bat (9) who was cool calm and collected in the heat of the gig. Terrific team performance Huge thanks to our opponents who made it a thrilling game of high quality cricket, to George for his work to produce a great wicket and the mums for sorting the hospitality. |
