Gresford Under 13's Vs Brymbo U13 1st Round Welsh Cup

BRYMBO U13'S Vs GRESFORD U13 - 1ST ROUND WELSH CUP

On the day the dambusters (617 squadren) returned seventy years ago, Gresford made a sortie to Brymbo in the first round of the Welsh Club Championship Cup.  Skipper Sam Thompson won the toss and elected to put the opposition in.  Brymbo's openers made a steady start, but then the wickets started to fall and they finished on 94-7.  Ryan Williams 1-11, Zac Dobie 0-5, Jack Cooper 0-20, Sam Thompson 14-1, Tomos Roberts 1-9, Dan Parry 3-16, Ryan McCarthy 0-11, and Harry Elcock 0-3 completed the bowling attack.  Fielding improving with Hodgeson, Dobie and Parry setting the standards.

Openers Sam Thompson and Zac Dobie were sent out on the mission to begin the run chase.  Two went out but one was soon back following a controversial decision by the umpire.... Sam I've said sorry!!!!!  Should have called the no ball.... anyway chocs away Rob Clarke was the next Gresford bomber try and hit the target.  Both he and Zac decided to drop some bombs of their own and were soon over 30* each, comprising of twelve boundaries and retiring undefeated.  Dan Parry entered the fray and was going well on 14 when the mission was complete and Gresford were called back to base with the win.
