Gresford 1st XI Vs Brymbo

So the excellent run of wins comes to and on the last day of the season. Brymbo with an outside chance to win the title really had to bat first. we decided that we wanted to and won the toss!  214 for 8 was a gd total on a pitch which lacked pace....skipper CE led the way with an outstanding 88no with good support from a number of bats, especially Danny W (45). A knackered Ellwood...see the piccies ...left the field to applause from all.

In reply....with our aopening bowler still too tired!....Brymbo lost 3 quick wks and another win for us looked likely. Their middle order then batted well to secure a 4 wk win. Our bowlers tried with Sean R particularly deserving praise and of Danny W (following on from his runs) with 5 wks our main threat.

Overall a good season with contributions from many players. A team........and off we went to the Presentation, then the Plough, then `town`.
