Match Report | Gresford Vs Bersham Gresford were away this week and looking to continue there title charge. Batting first the boys padded up. Lucas and Dylan first to the middle. The pair started the innings off well for Gresford only loosing the one wicket in their 4 overs. Lucas looked good on the front foot and Dylan playing some effective leg side shots. Oscar and Lewis were next to add to the Gresford start. Oscar finishing on 3 runs and Lewis on 2. The pair battled hard against some accurate bowling. Archie and Ranija the pick of the batting, working hard to get Gresfords innings back on track. The pair both finshied on 6 runs, with a four a piece. The score was taken to 231 with some intelligent batting the duo not loosing a wicket. Last up to continue on what the pair had built Matty and Harry. Harry attempted to add to the Gresford total, finding the boundary 3 times, but was held back by some actuate bowling which crept through onto the stumps. Matty played a key role getting bat on ball to some accurate bowling. The score at the end of the innings 231 for 12 wickets there was work to be done by the Gresford side. Looking to keep the runs low in bat Archie led his side out. And set the standard for the team bowling first. His two overs nice and tight only letting two runs come off the bat. Dylan followed the skipeprs start again tight lines only going for 2 runs and just bowling the one wide, unlucky not to get a wicket. Lucas responded to the positive start by his team mates. Again two overs for very little runs off the bat, bowling was accurate and hard to get away. Lewis T continued the push for victory coming close to getting the team a much needed wicket on more than one occasion. Oscar Ghattas was next up to bowl and bought the team there first wicket, thanks to some intelligent bowling on the stumps every time. Harry Mahoney the only spinner in the team, stepped up next. Flighting the ball to the other end the batsmen struggled to deal with the spin. 2 more overs for very little runs. Ranija the lat of the bowlers finished it off in style taking another wicket for Gresfords quest for success. Runs were kept down once again. Unfortunately this wasn't enough as Bersham crept there way to an 18 run win. Great effort by the boys bowling really well, but the 12 wickets lost cost the team 60 important runs. Player of the match had to go to Skipper Archie Hancock, who led his team well batting great and bowling on target well done.
