Match Report | Gresford turned up ready to go. Unfortunately Marchweil couldn't muster together a full side. Gresford were able to make up the numbers and the sides were mixed. Individual stats. Ollie Drago Opening up the batting for his team scoring a healthy 5 runs, looking confident against the quick Gresford bowling. Ollies bowling figures echoed that of his batting, consistent. With a wicket in his first over and bowling against some good Gresford batting Ollie was able to keep the runs at bay. Callum Millington Playing on the same side as Ollie, Callum went in to face some familiar bowling from his team mates, and it showed he was able to predict pace and length well judging his shots. Callums bowling was accurate and on more than one occasion and came close to getting himself a wicket. Archie Hancock Team skipper well a little confusing today with players dotted all over the place batted alongside Callum. Using his height well Archie dominated on the front foot easing the ball over the boundary line twice for four. Finishing on 13. Bowling again was consistent and fast, mixing his deliveries up to confuse the batsmen. Matty Hunter Matty played his batting game intelligently nudging the ball around taking more than 5 quick singles in his 4 overs. Matty kept wicket for his fielding session and did so well, stopping the ball diving left right and centre saving his team alot of runs. Harry Mahoney Harry's batting topped the scores with an impressive 24 runs, using his upper body strength harry moved towards the ball smacking it through the covers, midwicket and straight. He was also rewarded with a wicket in his bowling spell opting to bowl off spin and successfully doing so. Lewis Tansley For the other side Lewis was the first to enter batting. Waiting for the ball Lewis dispatched anything deemed to short and not on his stumps. Using this technique helped Lewis to 9 runs. His two overs bowling mimicked that of the whole Gresford side accurate and straight, leaving little room for the batsman to play their shots. Dylan Renouf Dylan batted with Lewis and played the perfect partnership role, waiting for the right ball and seizing his opportunity Dylan added run by run to the scoreboard. Dylan's bowling was good to, using his near perfect bowling action Dylan left the hard work for the batsman, hitting good areas all the time. Ranija Ranija topped the batting scores for his side, finishing on 16 runs. Playing some great leg side sweep shots in the process. Ranija backed up his performance with the bat with his bowling. Tight lines helped him find the stumps as he was rewarded with a well deserved wicket. Lucas Pold Lucas batted with Ranija, using his cricketing brain to help the pair out. Great calling allowed for 2s to be taken alongside the quick singles. This was helped along side some great driving skills on display. Lucas kept for his side in the field, and made sure that he stopped every ball. Ella Hancock Brother and sister rivalry found the pair on different sides. Ella batted well scoring 5 runs, using her technique with the bat to aid her quest for runs. Bowling figures were some of the best taking a wicket in the first over and only letting the batsmen score one run in her second over. Jake Kershaw The last of the Gresford players to take to the pitch. Scoring 13 runs in bat Jake impressed the fielding side with his aggressive approach, adding two 4s to his score. Jake's bowling was just as good as the batting bowling dot ball after dot ball. The result a little confusing but let's just say Gresford won. Well done all. |
