Match Report | A match played on the Astro Turf saw HSBC reaching 159-4 off their 20 overs. A score boosted by a short boundary, but also helped by some loose bowling at times as well as 20+extras from the Gresford bowlers. In reply, Gresford lost Chris Ellwood early on when he looked liked he could take the game away from the visitors quickly. James Griffin made 35, Gareth Bell 11, David Baker 21. Batsmen getting starts, but noone could see it through. Alex Ellwood scored a rapid 41 to give Gresford hope but was stumped in the last over with Gresford needing 8. A couple of run outs followed to see Gresford lose by 5 runs. A disappointing result, but with other results going Gresford's way, wins in the remaining games of the season could still see Gresford crowned champions. |
