| Match Report | Gresford sealed back to back wins in the Midweek league as they overcome a competitive Tata (corus) side by 8 wickets. Fielding first, Gresford got of to a good start with opening bowlers Bell and Bunkell conceding just 16 runs in the first 6 overs, Bunkell taking a wicket in the process. After a partnership of 36 Corus lost wickets consistently, with Owain Walker, Dave Baker and Matt daulby taking 2 wickets each. Corus' innings finishing on 90/9 off their 20 overs. In reply, Corus could not get the important wicket of Steve Griffin who held the chase together. Griffin (37no) batted through with good support from Joe Benson (18) and son James Griffin who hit 20*. The 3rd week in which Gresford have managed to play when all other games have been cancelled, the league however is still very tight. |
