Match Report | Midweek XI Back to Winning Ways After back to back defeats, the Midweek XI were keen to win against HSBC, in a week were all other fixtures in the league are likely to be washed out. Batting first Dave Baker and Danny Williams gave the innings some early momentum, Baker making a swift 26 and Williams finding some form with an innings of 57, which earned him the man of the match award from the opposition. Cameron Murdoch hit a stylish 32 to boost his confidence on returning from injury. Innings closed on 132 for 7. In wet conditions, Gresford managed to bowl quite well (when they could get the bar of soap to bounce). Wickets were shared round and HSBC's score of 114 suggests a closer game than it actually was. |
