Gresford Under 15's Vs Chirk

After a steady start against some good Chirk openers by Jack Cooper and Iwan Hoskins, the innings really got going when Dan Parry came to the crease at the fall of the first wk. He and Coops put together a partnership of 57. dan was the first to his 30, getting there with asix over mid wk (or cow corner!). Jack quickly followed, later to return to bat at the fall or the 9th wk (we only had 10, they had 9) to finish on 40 no. Sensible late order batting by Matt Soper and Sam Burke pushed the G total to 119 off 20 overs.

Chirk`s top order included ex G keeper James Carter, (32no), he and his fellow opener got the home side off to a steady start against the accurate bowling of Toby Bellis and Cam Evans. Fielding was good with Sam Burke`s two catches the highlight. Two  wks in an over from Tom Doggett an 4 for 9 from man of the match (and skipper) Coops left Chrk 20 runs short. Gd game, gd win.
