Match Report | Gresford's midweek campaign got off to a chaotic yet exciting start. Batting first, Gresford had only 8 players, with the bulk of their batting still stuck in work. After a tight opening from Mold's openers, Greford had only reached 20/1 after 7 overs. An excellent 51no from the returning James Francis and a powerful 30 from Chris Mullock saw Gresford reover to 108/5. In reply, Chris Ellwood struck early followed by 3 wickets in 2 overs from Sam Thompson and Simon Perry that left Mold 32/4 from 10. However, a partnership in the dark from Mold 'overseas' Boates and captain Jon Crane saw Mold needing just 8 from the last over. With the game in the balance, Mold held their nerve scoring a single off the last ball to take the win. Much credit to young Tommy Roberts whose 2nd to last over kept Gresford in the game.
